A creative natural head shot photography session with Golnar Luzza – Artist
I first met Golnar about 5 years ago. I used to live in a big beautiful terraced share house in East Melbourne, it was a grand house in a luxurious neighborhood. I was in the humble beginning stages of starting out Pixie Rouge around this time. My bedroom overlooked the street, and I was sitting at my desk one day working when I saw this beautiful pregnant lady get out of her car and go into the apartment building next door. So I ran downstairs and left a business card under her windshield wiper! It was a super bold thing to do for me, it’s hard to self-promote yourself, you just have to suck it up and do it and hope for the best.
Man am I so ridiculously glad that I left the card under her wiper that day. Golnar did call me, and I photographed her and Rob’s first born daughter, then I photographed them again when their second daughter joined their family. Golnar then got in touch to see if I would be interested in creating a series of funky bohemian images of her doing her art work, both in her home in East Melbourne and her studio space. Of course I said a big fat yes!
We did this series of photos over 2 days, I love how candid these images are, Golnar is such a beautiful spirited woman, she flits around her home like a magical creature in bare feet, we drank tea, climbed ladders, laughed hard, created magic while admiring each others art. This was a fine collaboration indeed, one I am sure will continue as we both grow in this world.
