YES! Australia voted yes to same sex marriage….I am so excited for this! This beautiful & creative same sex wedding is Mel & Tea’s at the Log Cabin Ranch – Melbourne, I was their photographer before the law had changed, there was honestly not a dry eye the whole day, I was wiping tears away from behind my camera all day long and I still cry as I think about it.

And today I received an email from Mel & Tea saying that they are doing it all again, but this time it’s going to be legal! I have tears thinking about it and I can not wait to re-photograph it! These two ladies had everyone in tears many times during the 7 short hours I was there, it was such a raw, emotional and real display of love & happiness. Not only did they marry each other, they also married two families together in the most beautiful way. I can honestly say, hands down that this wedding had probably the most love I have experienced in my wedding photography journey thus far. When Tea’s brother from the outback spoke during speeches…..he honestly only said a few words, then burst into tears because he was overcome with love, I swear, everyone cried! Another fond moment for me…..I was admiring the photo wall that had been made in the barn, and Tegan’s mum rolled up beside me and admired it with me, she pointed out a few people and told me bits about each, then she pointed to a photo of her sister and had a tear because she saw a butterfly during the ceremony, and she knew this butterfly came to the ceremony for a reason, a very special reason indeed. I truly do get invested in every single wedding I photograph, I’m not just there to take a picture, I genuinely want to know about loved ones, I love hearing stories and getting involved in everything I possibly can. So to everyone at Mel + Tea’s wedding….thank you for including me in such a very special day. I loved every single second, and now……….the album! ENJOY!
